Ashult is is the son of a bookbinder and a seamstress who raised him until he was twelve. He was then selected as the apprentice to an elderly magic-user named Phenton. Phenton trained him for ten years before his death. Now Ashult is on his own for the first time in his life and is headed to Veluna to give his mentor a proper burial.
